Thermal Shock Resistance Magnesia Carbon Brick

Brief introduction of Magnesia carbon bricks

Magnesia carbon brick is made of high-purity magnesium powder, carbon material (including graphite) and tar pitch or resin after batching, hot mixing and molding, and baked at about 300 ℃ or above 1000 ℃. Magnesia-carbon brick has high melting resistance because its constituent materials are magnesium oxide and carbon, both of which have high melting point and the two components are not fused with each other.

Features of Magnesia carbon bricks

  • High temperature resistance
  • Strong slag resistance
  • Good thermal shock resistance
  • Good thermal creep resistance

Application of magnesia carbon brick:

Up to now, magnesia-carbon bricks are still widely used in the iron and steel metallurgical industry. The application of magnesia-carbon bricks improves the technical and economic indicators of the converter and reduces the consumption of refractory materials. In addition, as a non fired product, compared with the traditional fired magnesia dolomite brick, the fuel consumption of magnesia carbon brick production is saved at least 80%.
